The AFGC supports efforts by government to increase access to global markets for Australian goods and services through multinational negotiations and country to country free trade agreements.
Australian manufacturers have tremendous opportunity to market our product to the premium end of the market by playing to our strengths in agriculture and food production. These strengths include our comparative advantage in the production of specific commodities; broad research, experience and business knowledge in agriculture; and sophisticated food manufacturing capabilities with strong safety and quality systems, under the oversight of an advanced food regulatory system.
The opportunity that growth from global markets can bring can only be achieved if state, local and federal governments better focus on infrastructure planning and help reduce input costs for industry.
