SUMMARY:SEMINAR SERIES - Supply Chain\, Sustainability & Trade
DESCRIPTION: \n  \nThe AFGC’s first Supply Chain\, Sustainability and Trade Seminar\nis coming to Melbourne in July\nJoin experts from across the food\, beverage and grocery sector\, as they provide valuable commentary on matters of significant importance to the industry now and into the future. \nThe 2020 format will be a little different\, bringing together seminars on three key areas of the AFGC’s advocacy in one day and three separate streams. \nSupply Chain\n\nPreparing supply chains to support business success in a dynamic Australian FMCG environment is the focus of the 2020 program. Speakers and delegates will explore supply chain implications relating to our dynamic and ever-changing operational and regulatory environment\, heightened customer and shopper requirements\, and rapidly emerging new technologies and channels to market\, as we investigate how our supply chains might best prepare for the future through innovation\, insight and efficiency. \nSustainability\n\nSustainability is a key issue for the AFGC\, with the sector under increasing scrutiny from governments and the community on how sustainability issues like climate change\, packaging and food waste and are being tackled by industry. In this fast-moving policy space it is vital to stay up-to-date with the legislative and regulatory requirements. In 2020\, the program will focus on what industry is doing to improve sustainability outcomes across the board and how the sector can work with governments and communities to achieve balanced outcomes. \nTrade\nAustralia’s export market is continually expanding\, with a host of new free trade agreements opening up new and exciting export opportunities for the food\, beverage and grocery industry. Trade Minister\, Senator The Honourable Simon Birmingham will give an overview of the Federal Government’s trade policy\, including new free trade agreements with Indonesia and Peru. There will also be a focus on post-Brexit exporting to the UK and exporting to Asia. \nDelegates will benefit from \n• A focus on current and emerging issues impacting the FMCG sector over the coming year;\n• The latest views and outlook from policy makers\, retailers\, experts and key from across the sector; and\n• sharing practical experiences and gaining insight while taking advantage of a great networking opportunity. \nWho should attend? \nThe seminar is open to all AFGC members and is particularly relevant to supply chain\, sustainability and trade teams. AFGC Associate and Affiliate members are also welcome to attend the event. \n \n  \n
