BACKGROUND:

COVID-19 has forced governments and regulators to review existing policies and regulations. In this webinar, leading food industry body in Asia, Food Industry Asia (FIA) will present an overview of the recent and upcoming policy and regulatory changes in the ASEAN markets.

Food Industry Asia is a Singapore based industry association that promotes sustainable growth and supports regional policies that deliver harmonised results.

Food Industry Asia

YiFan is Head of Science & Regulatory Affairs of Food Industry Asia (FIA), where she leads FIA in providing science-based advocacy to promote regional / global regulatory harmonisation in platforms such as the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
YiFan also leads FIA’s initiatives in various food safety capacity building programmes and technical trainings in partnership with regulatory agencies and development partners to help enhance the national food safety legislative frameworks and standards-setting activities in Asian countries.

Steven Bartholomeusz
Policy Director, Food Industry Asia

Steven leads all policy and advocacy, and has developed an engagement strategy that has seen more opportunities to position FIA as a thought leader and drive interaction with regional governments and FIA members. As part of the advocacy efforts, Steven leads the issues and stakeholder management strategy for FIA and has successfully implemented a robust management process that sees regular issues scanning and the development of issue and position papers to present the food industry’s position on developments such as obesity and non-communicable disease, sugar tax, marketing to children and nutrition labelling.Steven is an experienced corporate affairs professional with over 20 years international and regional experience managing issues and stakeholders and delivering communications strategy in the oil and gas industry, hydropower and public utilities, and more recently the food and beverage industry.
