BACKGROUND

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted fresh food supply chains to China and resulted in reduced air freight capacity and sharply increased freight rates.

As Chinese consumers return to stores over coming weeks, previously brand-loyal shoppers may switch brands if their favoured brand is unavailable. As a result, once the current supply challenges have passed it may be difficult (and expensive) for de-listed brands to recapture not only a re-listing, but also consumers. Chinese retailers unable to consistently source fresh food brands from Australia will be under significant pressure to replace those brands with others that are available.

This webinar will address on-the-ground observations in China, likely challenges for Australian food exporters, and will include an update on airfreight logistics to China.

SPEAKERS

Peloris Global Sourcing: Peter Verry, Managing Director
and Alex Wang, Executive Director

Peloris Global Sourcing (PGS) has developed a successful integrated supply chain management solution that enables food producers to access and develop China export market opportunities for their produce. Peloris Fresh Express’s green lane channel is the world’s fastest and most trusted pathway for fresh food exports to China.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in China, PGS export logistics service (aka Fast & Fresh) has delivered uninterrupted supply and excellent freight into the competitive Chinese market.

Peter and Alex will share their observations and learnings over the past few months to help other food exporters better understand the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
