 Industry Affairs Program Manager

The Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC) is the peak national body representing the interests of Australian consumer food, drink and grocery products manufacturers.

An opportunity exists for an appropriately skilled person to work with the Director of Industry Affairs in developing policy platforms; providing research and analysis; managing key projects and facilitating targeted industry education programs.

The Industry Affairs Program Manager requires a broad understanding of fast moving consumer goods and retail industry. This position specifically addresses the long term viability and sustainability of the fast moving consumer goods industry. Including the development of a regulatory framework for equitable trade along the value chain; establishing fact based research in relation to Australian food and grocery manufacturers trading conditions; and advancing industry programs for member companies.

Personal requirements;

  • Sound knowledge of the food and grocery industry is desired.
  • Energy, drive, initiative, determination and a track record in self motivated achievements.
  • Ideally possess a degree or higher degree in a related field.
  • Initiative, energy, drive, determination and a track record in self-motivated achievements.
  • Demonstrated capability in research and  analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
  • A capacity to work under pressure and to reconcile competing demands.
  • Networking capability, ability to build relationships with member company representatives & key industry stakeholders.
